Elderly Woman Shuts Down INTERNET in Her Country
In the country of Georgia, a 75 year-old woman is being accused of shutting down the internet of her country and in their neighboring country of Armenia. Allegedly the elderly woman was out around her house looking for copper wire in her hometown of Ksani when she came across a pipeline which she thought contained this copper wire. After a few swift strikes to the pipeline with a shovel, over 90% of private and corporate internet users were internet free for over 12 years. Because of her multiple strikes to the lines, it was later determined that she had struck a fiber optic cable which resulted in the internet shut down in these bordering countries. The woman now faces up to three years in prison for the damage she caused, however she has been initially released because of her age. I feel as though even though she did knock out a whole countries internet use, she should not be condemned. I don't think she did it purposely and would go out in search of fiber optic cables to destroy. Again, the cables were outside of her house, THINK ABOUT THAT!!! Let me know what you think about this story.
